2) Find a Replacement
You need to replace your old habit with a new action. For example, if you used to be a late-night snacker, you need to find a new activity to do at that time that will keep your brain and body occupied in a new way.
Some people do yoga, some drink a cup of tea, some squeeze a stress ball, some work on their computer and some simply breathe through their craving silently. Whatever you choose, repeat it and let it become part of your routine for at least 21 days.
3) Truly Commit
Once you find the root cause of your problem and find a replacement action for your nasty habit, it’s time to commit. This is a vital step that can make or break your success. There is a wrong and a right way to make a commitment that you will actually keep.
